Officers and Board of Directors,
I have assembled your many emails that debate the subject of Concours Classes and Awards. This Proposal does not include the new Concours point system or the Wally Swift Award. We as a group still need to debate these issues. Here is my Proposal;
There will be two judged Stock classes, the winner and places will be decided by points. TBD
There will be four Peoples Choice classes, the winner and places will be decided by the attending membership. The Stock classes will not be eligible. A voting sheet with instructions would be placed in the registered members United welcome package. Each voting sheet would have the members confirmation number printed on it for accountability.
Peoples Choice Alpine
Peoples Choice Tiger
Peoples Choice Rare Rootes
Peoples Choice Diamond in the rough
There will be two Most Desirable classes, the winner and places will be decided by the attending membership. All classes of cars are eligible. A voting sheet would be placed in the registered members United welcome package. Each voting sheet will have the members confirmation number printed on it for accountability. After this award has been accepted, the cars that have won this award will not be eligible for compition at the next United Concours. The Two most desirable class winners for that year would be displayed toghther at the next United Concours to honor this achievement in there own forum.
Most Desirable Alpine
Most Desirable Tiger
The place desiginations will be as follows:
Stock Alpine / 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Stock Tiger / 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Peoples Choice classes
Alpine / 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Tiger / 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Rare Rootes / 1st
Diamond in the rough / Diamond
Most Desirable classes
Alpine / Elite
Tiger / Elite
There must be Judges training before the Concours for the Sock Alpine and Stock Tiger class. We must search out Judges and get commitments from the Judges before the United. Judges must attend the training at the United before the day of the Concours, or they will not be able to Judge.
TE / AE will set up a mechanism that the Classes besides stock, to include Rare Rootes can get some “consulting time” with the judges and others designated for that function to critique their cars. This is important for those members who are relatively new to the marque or want to learn how to improve.
